A process-based approach, the standard examines the risk and opportunity of the day-to-day workings of the organization and helps to build a culture that is focused on integrating health and safety practices at all levels of the ISO 45001:2018, like most other ISO standards, has adopted the Annex SL High Level Structure (HLS). Annex SL is designed to simplify integration with other management systems like ISO 9001 and 14001 with consistent language and matching sub-clauses, making it easier for you to build and manage an integrated business management system. ISO 45001 enables an organisation, through its OH&S management system, to integrate other aspects of health and safety, such as worker wellness/wellbeing; however, it should be noted that an organisation can be required by applicable legal requirements to also address such issues.
